How to wash dishes in cold water?

Washing dishes is a dubious pleasure that housewives have to face daily. And the summer period is also clouded by turning off the hot water.

If you have to wash dishes in cold water ...

So, the water has already been turned off, nowhere to retreat, so it’s worth arming yourself with some tricks:

  1. Immediately after the meal, clean the plates of leftover food. Firstly, the ingress of food into the sink causes it to become clogged, and secondly, the food does not stick to the surface and is more easily washed off.
  2. It is advisable to wash the dishes immediately after cooking or after eating. If this is not possible, it must be soaked in warm water. Water can be preheated in a saucepan.
  3. Change dishwashing sponges regularly. Various options are sold in stores with which you can easily wash off fat, scale and burnt food, even in cold water.
  4. Do not stack plates one on top of the other. Washing in cold water both sides of the fat will be unpleasant and very long.
  5. If soaking for most cutlery goes without harm, then the knives must be washed immediately. In water, they begin to rust and may become dull.
  6. It is necessary to start washing with less soiled dishes while the sponge is clean.

Before you start cooking. You should immediately think about what kind of dishes you need. This will help to avoid a large number of dirty dishes and coordinate cooking.

The better to wash the dishes in cold water

On the shelves you can see a wide variety of detergents. Many of them perfectly wash off fat and burnt food, even in cold water. But it is worthwhile to understand that cold water is worse for washing off the product from the surface, so rinse the dishes more thoroughly.

For those who are afraid of chemistry, folk remedies are suitable:

  • soda - universal cleaner. Cleanses grease, scale and tea deposits. Gives shine to glass and crystal. Soda is used as a detergent: put on a sponge and wipe the surface. But not suitable for Teflon and non-stick coating;
  • mustard applied in powder form to a sponge or dissolved in water. It does not scratch the Teflon coating, degreases and disinfects the surface. For a greater effect, it is mixed with apple or table vinegar;
  • laundry soap 65% or 72%. Washes fat and food debris no worse than other detergents.

Oily dishes - how to wash

Washing dishes from fat in cold water is a thankless task. It will take a lot of detergent and patience to make the plates shine clean again.

You can simplify this process in the following way:

  1. First wash less soiled dishes: spoons, mugs, glasses.
  2. Close the sink drain with a stopper. If there is no plug, use a basin.
  3. Pour hot water, add a couple of drops of detergent and leave the dishes soak for 15 minutes.
  4. After 15 minutes, the water in the sink or basin can be diluted slightly cool to make it more comfortable to wash the dishes.
  5. If there is not enough water in the water, then add a small amount to the sponge and start washing dishes directly in the basin / sink. Do not drain the water.
  6. When everything is cleared of fat, drain dirty soapy water and rinse dishes under cool water.
  7. If you are not sure that the product has been washed off, you can rinse the dishes again.

If at home there is a supply of napkins made of nonwoven material, then before washing you can wipe the plates with them.

Units experience the pleasure and relaxation of washing dishes, and there are few lovers to do this in cold water. To make this process less annoying, you should include in parallel pleasant music or an audio book that will help you get distracted. Do not forget about delegating this responsibility to other family members. And to protect the skin of the hands, gloves must be used.
