How to unlock a laptop if you forget your password

In order to secure their data, people use various locking systems. The most popular and common method among users is the use of passwords. They can protect important information and prevent hacking attempts. The use of passwords in a computer is especially relevant, where interaction with various information and personal data of users is constantly carried out. But it often happens that people forget the necessary combination and cannot enter the system. In this case, you need to use the opportunity to restore access. In our article, we will look at various ways using a laptop as an example.

Initially, access restoration was used extremely rarely, but when frequent cases of blocking occurred due to a password loss, manufacturers thought about the possibility of data reset and re-entry. Therefore, in our time there are various ways to return to the normal functioning of technology.

Laptops are no exception; they also have several options for solving the problem. What to do depends on the model and complexity of the equipment - select one of the following methods to restore access to Windows.

Important! For standard login, if you lose your password, you may need additional information about the user. Also, when creating a password, it is recommended to leave a key question for entering.

If there was no prompt or she didn’t help remember the access key, you should use the proven login method using safe mode. To do this, it is enough to perform the following manipulations:

  1. You must turn on the laptop or activate its reboot.
  2. After a certain time from the start of the restart, you will hear a beep that indicates the activation of the BIOS system. To enter the main settings window, press the Del, Esc, F10 ... key (depending on the model, other assigned keys may be used for activation). To get to the right moment, it is recommended to press this button several times in a row.
  3. If all the actions are performed correctly, a dialog box with various parameters should open. If this does not happen, do it all over again.
  4. Among the proposed list of features using the arrows on the keyboard, select "Safe Mode". Press Enter to activate the selected system startup method.
  5. After that, wait for the laptop to load. The program will prompt you to log in as an administrator, in which you do not need to enter a password.

Attention! Do not change the system settings and administration rights, otherwise this method will not help to restore access.

Using this method, you can quickly and easily return all settings and restore access to the laptop. In this case, you do not need to update components and remove the system. In the diagnostic mode, which will be activated after a secure login, do the following:

  1. Open the main Start menu with the appropriate key or click on the icon in the lower left corner of the screen.
  2. From the list that opens, select "Control Panel", go to this section.
  3. Next, enter the account category. From the list that opens, select the account you want to recover.
  4. From the proposed list of possible actions, select "Change password."
  5. If you wish, you can simply reset the password. To do this, do not fill in the input fields. If a password is required, simply duplicate the value and click on the “Save” button to save the changes.

After the computer restarts, enter the newly created combination and gain access to the laptop to perform work in standard user mode.

Important! Save the password or write it down for quick activation the next time you turn on the system.
