Digital technology does not stand still. Gone are the days when a customer chose a television based on the principle of color or black and white. The modern market offers LCD, plasma, LED and OLED TVs. What are they LED and OLED TVs and which one is better?

What does it mean LED and OLED

LED backlighting is widely used by more LCD TVs. Unlike plasma, each pixel of Ice TVs requires backlighting. The backlighting is carried out due to small LEDs. By the type of placement of the LED strip, they are divided into side and matrix or local. Local illumination is located on the rear surface of the matrix. Response time. The development of ice technology does not stand still and it is constantly being improved. However, ice has an undeniable advantage in response time. If you compare it with all the currently existing digital television technologies, organic crystals outperform everything in terms of the speed of picture transmission.

Black transmission.This parameter is one of the main when determining the quality of the picture. The higher this setting, the higher the contrast. LED TVs, even when using dimming technology, are not able to transmit blue-black color. Therefore, the advantage here is OLED technology.

Brightness.LEDs are capable of providing incredibly bright light. Therefore, here, albeit with a slight margin, but the advantage for LED - receivers.

Viewing angle.Quite a controversial feature, as OLED TVs have a curved screen. This design does not allow the viewer standing on the side to fully cover the entire screen, since part of the screen will be closed by a bend.

Power consumption.The undeniable advantage here is OLED technology. Such TVs are thinner, do not require additional backlighting and therefore consume significantly less power.

Prices.The clear leader is LED technology. The cost of OLED TVs makes them inaccessible to most users. Most likely, this trend will continue for several years.

Lifetime.Here it is impossible to say which side has advantages. OLED technology is still very young, so it’s quite difficult to talk about the life of the device.

If the user is interested in picture quality and contrast, there is no need to place the TV on the wall, and there are no financial restrictions, then you can choose OLED. However, the same image quality and excellent viewing angle are also demonstrated by the plasma panel. Moreover, one should not forget that the new technology, which costs a lot of money today, can become cheaper several times in a couple of years.
