How to remove the brackets from the cabinet door frame

One of the distinguishing features of frame structures is that they can be easily disassembled and reassembled. In order for the product to have the same presentation as at the beginning at the end of the assembly, it is necessary to carefully remove the brackets and self-tapping screws from the frame during operation. And if the latter is often removed often, then not all are faced with brackets.

What brackets look like

A door bracket is often called a handle that has a fastener on both sides. The product received its name due to the fact that it resembles it in shape. In fact, it is a door handle of a curved or straight shape (U-shaped also occur).

The choice of material for door brackets for the cabinet is extensive. They are made of iron, aluminum, plastic, as well as wood. For cabinet doors, the last two materials are usually used. Plastic is notable for its lightness and cheapness, while wood is natural and durable. Many note that wooden handles are much more pleasant to the touch than any other material.
Fastening such an arcuate handle involves the following steps:

  1. drilling holes in the door;
  2. fasteners on the back with tightening screws.

Handles-brackets can be installed on both sides (then fasteners will be made with the same handle on the other side), but for cabinets such fastening is not rational.

If you decide to change the pen, then you should choose based on your own preferences. You are unlikely to notice strong differences in quality (at least in the first year of use), but you cannot do without sufficient ergonomics.

When replacing, it is important to ensure that the parts have the same distance between the ends, otherwise the cabinet will not be able to maintain a neat appearance: you will have to drill new holes, while the old ones will remain in sight.

REFERENCE! The name of the part indicates the distance between its ends. For example, for ARO-250: ARO is the name of its type (arched), and 250 is just the gap between the mounting screws in millimeters.

Training

The door handle is used almost more often than other elements, so it wears out faster and requires replacement. Both the appearance of the bracket and its functionality may deteriorate.

REFERENCE! To remove the handle, some previously remove the door, but it is most convenient to do this when there is free access to both sides of the door.

Before starting work, you need to prepare a working tool and purchase a replacement bracket, if necessary.

To remove the staples you will need:

  • Allen key
  • small screwdriver.

Instruction manual

The brackets are installed both on the bar and on the screed, but in general they are all dismantled according to the same principle:

  1. Remove the fixing screws. In many low-cost models, mounts are not masked at all, so finding them is not difficult. Their location depends on the model of the handle-bracket: they are both on the outside of the door, and on the inside.
  2. Unscrew the clamping nut. To do this is actually not as simple as it looks at first glance. It is located at the base. In order to unscrew it without unnecessary efforts, you must first find the hole for the rod. By inserting a hex wrench into the hole for the shaft, you can easily unscrew the nut /
  3. Remove the product.

IMPORTANT! In the process of dismantling the handle, it is not necessary to purchase new mounting screws and nuts - from the old bracket, they may well serve even longer, as they are less susceptible to wear.

The main thing is to fit in size.
