Types of electric boilers for heating a private house

Now a huge number of people prefer life outside the city. An important issue in the organization of suburban life is the heating of a private house. The most popular method of heating today is called an electric boiler.

On the market they are presented in various species categories. To choose the device that you need, you should deal with the characteristics of each type.

The main types of electric boilers for heating

The principle of operation of this equipment is based on the fact that the supplied electricity heats the coolant, which provides heating of the water. The type of electric boiler depends on how the heating medium is heated. There are 3 types of them:

  • Electric heating boilers - at the heart of the design of this type of equipment; TEN - thermal heating element - a tube, inside of which there is a spiral conducting current. The heater, hermetically integrated into the pipe, heats the water in it. A circular pump ensures even distribution of water throughout the pipeline;
  • The electrode electric boiler is also called ionic, ion-exchange, electrolysis. And all because the conversion of electricity to energy is due to the electrodes. The coolant (a liquid of a certain chemical composition) is supplied in such a way that it is between the electrodes, voltage is applied to them and the water is heated;
  • Induction electric boilers - heating of the coolant is due to the occurrence of induction current. At the heart of the design is a metal core on which wires are wound. A current is supplied through them, an electromagnetic field appears in the core and it heats up. Energy is given to the coolant, which heats the water.

The number of circuits, efficiency and power of electric boilers of various types

The TEN electric boiler has a power of 12 kW. All power is distributed on 6 heaters, 2 kW each. Efficiency is 98%.

Important! Over time, scaling occurs on the heating elements, because of which they lose their original power. To avoid this, use distilled water as a coolant - a liquid without impurities! The electrode electric boiler has a power of 1-16 kW, distributed in 1-3 phases. The efficiency is about 100%. The efficiency of the induction electric boiler is 98-100%.

Unlike a device based on electric heaters, here (as on the electrode) scale does not form, and the power remains the same as it was when purchased - from 2 to 1500 kW.
How many contours will your boiler have, choose it yourself. Their number depends on the purpose for which the heated water will be used. Single-circuit systems are used only for heating rooms, and a unit with two circuits is used for heating water in a tap, for heating air in a room.

What kind of electric boiler is better

When choosing a boiler, proceed from your needs and capabilities - study the advantages and disadvantages of one or another type.
TEN new electric boiler has advantages:

  • Relatively low price;
  • Unit safety.

Disadvantages:

  • Scale and system power reduction;
  • The spiral in the heater can burn out.

The electrode electric boiler has positive features:

  • Small size construction;
  • Lack of TENOV, the scum is not formed and the spiral will not burn out;
  • Lack of coolant will not damage the unit.

Disadvantages:

  • The high cost of the fluid used as a coolant;
  • Good grounding is required to exclude the possibility of electric shock;
  • The difficulty in regulating power.

Induction electric boiler is a type of electric boiler for heating a private house. Its advantages:

  • Any type of coolant;
  • It does not require replacement of heating elements - there are no heating elements and electrodes;
  • Heats up quickly;
  • Works safely;
  • High service life.

Disadvantages:

  • High price;
  • Big weight - about 40 kg;
  • Requires forced circulation by the pump.

You should weigh all the pros and cons, prioritize! Then you will get the necessary goods, and your house will always be warm, comfortable and safe!
