Often during repair situations arise when the stove needs to be moved or completely removed from the kitchen. You won’t have to bother with electric for a long time - you just need to unplug the cord from the outlet, but with a gas one, this is not so simple.Not only is its independent movement prohibited by the legislative framework, but in itself this action, although simple in appearance, is very dangerous.

What is said about this in the legislative framework

If necessary, with respect to gas household appliances, any action should first clarify their legality.According to the code of rules of the Housing Code of the Russian Federation, namely article 5.5.2, only specialized organizations are allowed to dismantle gas equipment. In this case, the specialist conducting the work must necessarily have documentary evidence of the availability of qualifications in this area and have access to work. Even if you did not intend to do something significant with the gas stove, according to the rules for organizing the supply of gas, you must notify the gas service of any intention to change the operating conditions of gas appliances or connections to the gas main.

Often, calling a specialist is not cheap, and many, for this reason, resort to independently disconnecting the stove from the gas supply. The algorithm of actions is simple, especially with such experience, however, it requires a lot of attention and focus.

Important: in some areas, it is strictly forbidden at the legislative level to independently disconnect devices from the gas pipeline. Such regions include, for example, the Moscow region.

It should be remembered that the responsibility for the safety of gas household appliances lies with the landlord or his employer.Thus, if something goes wrong, you will not only have to pay the damage, but you yourself will have to pay monetary compensation to both the neighbors affected by your negligence and the gas service. This rule is simultaneously regulated by two documents at once:

- The Civil Code of the Russian Federation (Art. 210);

- The Housing Code of the Russian Federation (Article 30.67).

Safety rules when disconnecting a gas stove during repair

If you still made the decision to turn off the gas stove yourself, then you should approach this matter with complete seriousness. In such works, negligence and neglect of certain actions are unacceptable due to the doubtfulness of their significance on your part. Dismantling the furnace from the gas main requires scrupulousness and responsibility, since an explosive situation may occur with the slightest mixture of air and natural gas.

To protect yourself from accident, during work you should pay attention to the following safety rules:

1. Disconnection from electricity. Even the slightest spark is dangerous, therefore, in order not to risk it, it is necessary to disconnect all household appliances from the network nearby, as well as remove them from the premises where work is carried out, mobile phones, tablets and other similar devices. If possible, it is advisable to disconnect the uninterruptible power supply.
2. Providing room ventilation. To prevent the accumulation of gas, it is necessary to open all windows and doors to neighboring rooms.
3. Using the right tools. Not only that, the keys must be suitable in size (for these works fit No. 1 and 2), so they must be made of plastic or brass, but in no case of steel. When working with iron tools, the probability of sparks is high, which is unacceptable in the case of a gas pipeline.
4. Overlapping the valve on the riser, disconnecting the stove, are mandatory points that must be completed before starting work.
5. Using stubs. During dismantling, you must plug each pipe before proceeding to the next step. All stubs must be prepared well in advance. You can use both specialized and just wet rags.
6. Check for leaks. Each new compound is checked by applying a thick soapy solution and applying gas. The appearance of bubbles suggests that the gas in this place still passes.
7. A warning. If suddenly there is a noise, hissing or strong smell of gas that is not within your competence, you must urgently call the gas service to prevent an accident.

Algorithm of actions when disconnecting a gas stove during repair

Independent disconnection of the stove from the gas line requires utmost care. In the process, you can not be distracted, so all the necessary tools and materials must be prepared in advance.

Important: Only a soap solution should be used to check for leaks. Testing by ignition of a match is unacceptable and in some cases can cost a life.

To protect yourself from unforeseen situations, you must strictly follow the algorithm of actions:

1. Disconnect the room and close the gas valve in accordance with the rules presented above.
2. Disconnect fitting from line. To do this, the valve is captured with a wrench No. 2, the pressure nut - with a wrench No. 1 - after which it is necessary to tighten it with effort.
3. Wrap the free end of the pipe with FUM tape, on which a threaded overlap is worn on top.
4. Check connection with soapy water. Do not forget that for this you need to open the valve with gas. After the check, it closes again.
5. With reliable tightness, shut off the central gas tap.

Disconnect the stove for a short time, it is important to do it correctly.To connect back to the main line, it is necessary to contact the gas service, since if during the inspection it notices the connection itself, it may terminate the gas supply contract.
