Brazier is one of the very first inventions for cooking. Over time, materials were improved, new designs were modified and created, but the principle of operation remained unchanged. Pieces of meat, fish or vegetables are strung on a skewer and are located above sources of heat, most often over coals - so the food warms up well inside and becomes covered with a crisp outside. Depending on the characteristics and the further purposes of application, braziers are subdivided into several versions.

It features the following performance features:

  • ease of assembly;
  • relatively light weight;
  • compactness - such a device can be easily placed in the trunk of a car to go on a suburban trip.

Its disadvantages include a small functionality and a short lifetime. As a rule, portable barbecues are made of steel sheets, while the manufacturer usually takes into account the balance between the thickness of the metal and the total mass - this must be observed when self-fabricating. Too thin sheet steel may be subject to deformation, and too thick increases the weight and size, which can lead to difficulties during transportation.

This option is a non-collapsible design larger than the previous one. It can be supplemented with wheels for easy movement around the area, which is especially important when the wind is variable, when it is necessary to move the device so that the smoke does not hit the campers.

In addition, it can be equipped with decorative forged details that give it an aesthetic appearance, thanks to which such a device will become a real decoration of the dacha or a country house. This brazier can be equipped with a table for cutting meat and a stand for firewood.

It is a massive structure mounted on a foundation. She may be:

  • brick;
  • stone;
  • metal (steel or cast iron);
  • from mixed materials.

Such a device can perform the functions of a small architectural form, next to it you can arrange a recreation area, furniture and space for firewood and dishes.

It is rarely purchased for domestic use, more often it is an attribute of catering chains, since it is possible to cook kebabs and other dishes on it as quickly as possible and in large quantities.

In everyday life, this type of braziers is not popular due to its massiveness and difficulty in operation, since handling it requires regular acquisition of gas cylinders and the presence of skills to install them.
